I was sooooo happy when Baby Keem randomly announced this album and dropped it shortly after, what a goat man. I was a huge fan of The Melodic Blue (I bought it on vinyl) and DIE FOR MY BITCH, with some tracks off these projects soundtracking huge portions of my life, especially during 2021-22 when I was serving my National Service. That being said, I’m delighted that this album has completely surpassed all conceivable expectations.

This album has everything going for it - from the concept itself to its tight tracklist to Keem’s immense growth as an artist on display, to the production choices and features. It truly is mindblowing how much Keem has improved since his previous album (I can’t believe that was 5 years ago already!) because he is doing EVERYTHING on a completely different level on this album: his writing, singing, even his vocal inflexions and tones all shine here.

The track that really blew me away was “I am not a Lyricist” because he is almost unrecognisable on this. Shawn Cee said it best when he described Keem as being a sort of chameleon on this track, channeling elements of multiple influences like Andre3000. Surprisingly, one of the only weak points of this album was the Kendrick Lamar feature on “Good Flirts”, where the laid-back delivery just doesn’t exactly work and comes across as boring and just out of place. That “Dramatic Girl” track is also a little goofy but maybe it grows on me. All in all, I am ecstatic that a new Baby Keem album is finally here and is as good as it is. This guy deserves all the praise in the world man.
